Namba Grand Kagetsu Theater is operated by the comedy talent agency "Yoshimoto Kogyo." This theater is known as the "Hall of Laughter," abbreviated as NGK, and is beloved by the people of Osaka. Since its opening in 1987, it has hosted performances related to manzai (a form of stand-up comedy involving two performers), rakugo (a form of solo storytelling), and Yoshimoto Shinkigeki every day of the year. On weekdays, there are two performances, starting at 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, there are three performances at 10:00 AM, 1:30 PM, and 5:00 PM. Additionally, special performances are held during long holidays such as summer vacation and New Year. Each performance lasts about two hours and features Yoshimoto Shinkigeki, among other familiar acts, with performers ranging from well-known veteran comedians to emerging young talents, showcasing different generations of performances every day. It is not an exaggeration to say that one can enjoy the finest comedy in Japan all in one place. The theater has 858 seats, making it the largest dedicated comedy theater in Japan. The comfortable seating allows audiences to fully enjoy the comedic performances. Tickets are reserved seating and can be purchased at the ticket counter on the first floor or online. In addition to a restaurant, the theater also features the "Yoshimoto Entertainment Store," which offers a wide range of merchandise from Yoshimoto artists, including many exclusive items.
