Nihonbashi Takashimaya is the Tokyo branch that opened in its current location in Showa 8 (1933). In 2023, Takashimaya celebrated its 90th anniversary since its founding and has multiple branches across the country; Nihonbashi Takashimaya is not only the flagship store of Takashimaya nationwide but also one of the famous landmarks in Nihonbashi. In 2015, the watch specialty store "TAKASHIMAYA WATCH MAISON" was opened, followed by the opening of the East Building in 2018, which houses "Pokémon Center TOKYO DX," and the new building that gathers over a hundred specialty stores. In 2019, the main building underwent renovations and was integrated into a new "Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C," consisting of four buildings. The main building extensively uses Italian-imported marble and features a vintage elevator that is still in use, showcasing a fashion style that blends Renaissance elements with Eastern essence. It holds significant historical value and is the first building in the department store industry designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Additionally, the newly established GALLERIA between the main building and the new building, which merges new and old designs, is also noteworthy.

The main building, along with the new building and the East building, forms a large commercial facility consisting of four buildings. The new building, which opened in 2018, welcomed over a hundred specialty stores. It features the "TAKASHIMAYA WATCH MAISON," which showcases a collection of world brand wristwatches. The main building, constructed in the early Showa period, is the first in the department store industry to be designated as an Important Cultural Property.
