About Niigata Senbei Kingdom
You can visit the senbei production process and taste delicious food at the senbei theme park, and you can also experience making giant senbei.
Details
In Niigata, the production of rice snacks such as senbei and arare accounts for about 60% of Japan's total output throughout the year. Among them, the senbei brands "Tsuki no Komochi" and "Hoshi no Komochi" from the Niigata company "Kuriyama Beika" are particularly famous for their popularity. The "Niigata Senbei Kingdom," located within the company’s factory grounds, is a theme park where visitors can participate in senbei-making experiences.
A special recommendation is the "Super Extra Large Picture Senbei Hand-Roasting Experience." In the experience area, participants can grill dough with a diameter of up to 25 centimeters on a grill and freely draw patterns with soy sauce to create unique, original senbei. Other options include a mini senbei grilling experience and a flavoring experience for making original Tsuki no Komochi and Hoshi no Komochi.
The dining area offers dishes that recreate the taste and appearance of Tsuki no Komochi, such as "Tsuki no Komochi Croquettes," and rice flour curry bread. Among the most popular items is the "Senbei Soft Serve," which features ice cream placed on salad-flavored senbei, drizzled with a special soy sauce, making it a hot-selling product. The souvenir shop offers a variety of Tsuki no Komochi products exclusive to the Senbei Kingdom and the region.
