Located on the Hokkaido Route 2 between "Sōbetsu" and "Noboribetsu," the Orofure area offers stunning views from the Orofure Observation Deck, where you can enjoy magnificent natural landscapes including the Pacific Ocean, Lake Kutcharo, Lake Tōya, and Mount Yotei. The scenery is beautiful throughout the four seasons, with the vibrant autumn foliage being particularly breathtaking. In winter, you can witness the unique natural beauty of Hokkaido, characterized by intertwining white snow and tree ice. The lush greenery of spring and summer refreshes the spirit. The nearby forests, where birch and coniferous trees grow together, are also worth a visit. If you visit between January and February, the tree ice forest near the Orofure Tunnel is a must-see attraction. The mysterious spectacle changes with time and temperature, creating a breathtaking beauty. There is a hiking trail that leads from the Orofure Observation Deck to the summit of Mount Orofure, the third highest peak in the Iburi region at an elevation of 1,230.7 meters. If you visit during a pleasant season, take the time to enjoy the joy of hiking. Along the approximately 300-meter trail, you can see spectacular alpine plants in bloom, such as the Rakan Rock, Shirane Aoi, and Kodomo-guruma.

You can enjoy the scenic spots in the southern region. The autumn foliage is absolutely beautiful and enchanting. During specific periods in winter, you can see the frost-covered forests. The Orofure Viewing Platform has hiking trails. Please be especially cautious as road conditions can be dangerous in winter.
