Driveable sandy roads are rare around the world, and the Senbonhama Seaside Road is an approximately 8-kilometer stretch of road that runs along the coast, making it the only road in Japan where you can drive on the beach. Here, you can not only drive but also ride motorcycles or bicycles. The sand is fine and solidifies when wet, allowing you to enjoy the experience of driving along the coast like a scene from a movie. The sight of the sunset while cruising is particularly moving. During the squid fishing season, fishing boats line up with their lights shining on the dark sea, creating a dreamlike view that resembles another scenic drive appearing on the water's surface. In the summer, the beach is a popular swimming area, and during the swimming season, it is divided into swimming zones, parking areas, and driving lanes (the scenic drive) from the outer sea. There are traffic regulations in place, such as speed limits and overtaking restrictions, so please pay special attention when traveling along this road. Additionally, you can enjoy barbecues or camping with tents year-round, but it is essential to follow the regulations regarding taking your trash with you, prohibiting open fires directly on the beach, and using equipment properly.

When the official determines that the waves are too high, access will be restricted. In areas where the sand is dry and appears white, wheels can easily sink, so please be especially cautious. Do not park your vehicle near the coast, as the tires may sink and get stuck.
