🗺️ Road Station Maebashi Akagi道の駅まえばし赤城

Located at the foot of Mount Akagi in the central part of Gunma Prefecture, this roadside rest area opened in March 2023. It features a variety of offerings including gourmet food, games, shopping, and leisure activities, with over 20 shops and a rich array of events, making it a charming place for interaction. The parking lot has 499 spaces, making it the largest roadside rest area in the prefecture. Best of all, it provides convenient access to tourist destinations such as Akagi, Ikaho, Kusatsu, Minakami, and Tanigawa. We especially recommend 17 dining establishments, including 11 popular local restaurants from Maebashi, offering a diverse range of meals. From locally sourced dishes using fresh vegetables from Maebashi Akagi to exclusive menu items available only at the roadside rest area, there is something for everyone. Additionally, it features the rare hot spring facility "Maebashi Akagi no Yu," which recreates a retro Showa-era atmosphere, allowing visitors to wash away their travel fatigue. The bathhouse includes an oil painting of Mount Akagi, created by the only female painter, Tanaka Mizuki (田中みずき), providing a visual treat for relaxation. Here, you can also enjoy Gunma's only "Beautiful Skin Hot Spring" and natural scenery, experiencing the joys of tourism in the surrounding area.
