About Rokko Forest Sound Museum

The museum, nestled in the forest, offers healing through a variety of "sounds" and abundant nature.

Details

Located on Mount Rokko, the ROKKO Forest of Sound Museum showcases a collection of antique music boxes, automatic organs, and mechanical dolls made in Europe and the United States from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. In the most popular program, "Concert Without Performers," visitors can enjoy automatically played music that matches seasonal themes. The natural garden, which integrates the changing seasons of Mount Rokko, is perfect for leisurely walks or spending relaxing time. Various "sounds" are also displayed in the garden, and from May to October on Sundays, there are live mini music performances. Drinks or meals purchased at the café can be enjoyed on the terrace seating. The museum's souvenir shop is also recommended for selecting travel souvenirs or gifts, including music boxes ranging from affordable options to authentic antique music boxes, offering a rich variety of products. The workshop hosts music box assembly experiences and instrument-making experiences for items like marimbas and kalimbas. Professional staff provide careful guidance and assistance, so first-time participants need not worry.
