🗺️ Ryugado Cave

📝 Introduction

The dreamlike effects created by sound and light! A stalactite cave experienced through the five senses.

📖 Details

Ryugado Cave is located in Kochi Prefecture and is a massive limestone cave designated as a national historic site and natural monument. In 2019, it was renovated to include sound and light effects, making the overall experience more attractive. Inside the cave, there are many spots filled with natural mystery, such as the "Memorial Waterfall," which is 11 meters high, and the "Stone Flower Hall," where many small stalactites gather to resemble flowers. The "God's Pot," a vessel used by the indigenous people who lived in the cave, has merged with the stalagmites over two thousand years, making it a valuable archaeological find. Participation in the "Adventure Course," which seeks thrilling excitement (additional fees apply, and reservations are required the day before), is highly recommended. Unlike the regular course, the adventure course takes you through a dark, narrow path of about 200 meters, relying on headlamp light to navigate, providing a memorable experience that ignites the spirit of adventure. Clothing and equipment rentals are available on-site, so you can experience it hands-free. Around the cave entrance, there are several shops and dining options, allowing visitors to enjoy a pleasant stroll.
