About Sakurajima Lava Nagisa Park & Foot Bath
In the park, there is a foot bath that is about 100 meters long, claimed to be the longest in Japan, healing the fatigue of your journey.
Details
Located by the seaside, this park is famous for its free foot bath. The natural hot spring, which emerges from 1,000 meters underground, is rich in iron and minerals, giving it a reddish-brown color. After soaking in the foot bath, your body will feel warm. Spanning approximately 100 meters, it is touted as the longest foot bath in Japan, allowing visitors to enjoy a relaxing moment while gazing at the beautiful Kinko Bay in front and Sakurajima behind. The nearby Sakurajima ferry terminal is a great place to relax and soothe tired feet after a walk before boarding a boat. If you forget to bring a towel, you can purchase one at the "Sakurajima Visitor Center" or "Kokumin Shukusha Rainbow Sakurajima." The park is open all day, but please note that the foot bath is available only until sunset.
The expansive grassy park is the perfect spot to leisurely enjoy a bento. A trail approximately 3 kilometers long connects the park and the Udo Observatory, allowing visitors to stroll while taking in views of the lava formed during the Taisho eruption a century ago.
