🗺️ Sapporo TV Tower

The Sapporo TV Tower, built in 1956, is located at the starting point of Odori Park in West 1-chome. Since its completion, it has witnessed the development of Sapporo and has become a landmark, well-known to both locals and tourists. The observation deck, standing 90 meters high, not only offers a panoramic view of Sapporo city but also allows for a distant view of the Ishikari Plain and the Sea of Japan on clear days, making it an ideal viewing spot. Additionally, the Sapporo TV Tower serves as a prime location for the winter events "Sapporo White Illumination" and "Sapporo Snow Festival," offering private bookings for 30 minutes after closing time, which is particularly popular among couples (reservation in advance is required). Inside the rest area of the observation deck, there is the tallest shrine in Sapporo, which houses the popular mascot "TV Papa," born in 2002. Fans of TV Papa often visit this place as a pilgrimage site. There is also the "Scary Window," featuring floor-to-ceiling glass windows from the ground to the ceiling, providing a thrilling experience while enjoying the view.
