SEKAI Sushi offers sushi, sashimi, and local Niigata cuisine made from fresh fish that can only be found in Niigata. The owner is dedicated to promoting Niigata sushi and is also the planner behind the common menu of "Ultimate" sushi, which is offered at about 20 well-known sushi restaurants in Niigata City.
The most popular item on the menu is undoubtedly the "Ultimate" sushi. It includes seasonal fresh fish from Niigata, tuna, sea urchin, salmon roe, and the premium fish "Akashio" caught in the Sea of Japan, comprising 10 pieces of top-grade sushi (the contents of "Ultimate" vary by restaurant).
Additionally, our restaurant is famous as the origin of the Akashio don, which is topped with slices of Akashio fish rich in delicious fat. The signature "Grilled Akashio Don" is a must-try. The Akashio fish, which is also delicious when eaten raw, becomes even more flavorful and aromatic when grilled. To allow customers to enjoy a more luxurious taste, the restaurant specially uses natural salt made from the "Sasagawa Current," a national scenic spot in Niigata Prefecture known for its clear, high-quality seawater, instead of soy sauce for seasoning.
At the same time, the restaurant also offers Niigata's local dish "Nobehi Soup" (a Niigata-style stew containing many vegetables and thickened with small taro), as well as a wide variety of local sake, hoping to provide every visiting gourmet with the unique flavors of Niigata.
