A popular scenic spot located in the southern part of Okinawa Island. Just a 15-minute drive from Naha Airport, its advantageous location is one of its charms. Situated on a small hill, it offers breathtaking views of the endless ocean and blue sky. True to its name, the biggest highlight of the area is the sunset. In the evening, the sky is painted in shades of orange and pink, creating a dreamy and enchanting scene. Since Senaga Island faces west, visitors can fully enjoy the sight of the sun sinking below the horizon. If you're lucky, you might also catch a glimpse of the "green flash," a brief moment when the sun sets. This phenomenon is extremely rare and only occurs under specific conditions such as temperature and humidity. Senaga Island is relatively easier to see this phenomenon, especially around October when the air is clear. It is said that witnessing the mysterious moment of the green flash can bring good luck, so it is highly recommended to experience it in person.
