About Shinsaibashi

One of Japan's representative high-end brand streets and one of the most prosperous shopping districts in the southern area of Osaka.

Details

Shinsaibashi is one of the thriving commercial districts in the southern area of Osaka, alongside Dotonbori. Shinsaibashi refers to three areas: Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street, Nishi Shinsaibashi, and Higashi Shinsaibashi. The Osaka Metro Midosuji Line and Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line's "Shinsaibashi" station, as well as the Yotsubashi Line's "Yotsubashi" station, are the main transportation gateways to Shinsaibashi. Namba is also within walking distance, making it a highly convenient hub for sightseeing in Osaka. The abundance of accommodation options is another of its attractions. When mentioning Shinsaibashi, one cannot overlook its status as Osaka's premier shopping destination. On the east side of Midosuji, the Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street stretches north and south along Nagahori-dori, featuring commercial facilities like Daimaru Shinsaibashi and Shinsaibashi PARCO, as well as a variety of well-known clothing stores and dining establishments, drawing crowds of shoppers continuously. Additionally, there are several high-end brand boutiques along Midosuji, making it famous as a luxury shopping street, akin to Ginza in Tokyo. On the west side of Midosuji, Nishi Shinsaibashi is home to "America Village," known as a hub for fashion, art, and music, becoming a popular base for young people in Osaka.
