📖 Details
Shirahama Onsen, along with Dogo Onsen and Arima Onsen, is known as one of Japan's three ancient hot springs. Due to the different water sources, the hot springs in Shirahama Onsen Town have various qualities and effects. Therefore, a tour of the hot spring town allows you to enjoy the unique characteristics of Shirahama Onsen all at once.
If you want to visit multiple hot spring facilities in one go, it is recommended to purchase a hot spring tour pass called "Nanki Shirahama Onsen Meguri Fuda" (Japanese: 湯めぐり札), priced at 1,800 yen. This pass allows you to visit 14 hot spring facilities within Shirahama Onsen Town. You can enjoy outdoor baths with ocean views as well as large public baths in luxurious ryokans, fully experiencing the charm of Shirahama Onsen.
Shirahama Onsen also features three outdoor hot springs without accommodation facilities, known as "sotoyu" (public baths), where you can simultaneously enjoy the sea view and the hot spring experience, making them very popular. They are "Kaki no Yu," which offers a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean; "Muro no Yu," where you can experience both mineral water and Kōsuke Onsen; and "Shirara no Yu," which has a nostalgic atmosphere. Additionally, there are nine foot baths, each with its own unique characteristics.
