As a branch of the Kitakyushu City Science Museum "Space LABO," it officially opened in April 2022. It primarily hosts science classes and science performances on weekends (reservations are generally required in advance). In addition, the "World Heritage Visitor Center" located within the facility showcases the complete picture of the world cultural heritage "Sites of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution." Through a 1:150 scale model of the government-run Yahata Steel Works and various display panels, along with easily understandable video content, visitors can learn about the overall history of the "Sites of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution" and its value as a World Heritage site. Nearby, there are well-equipped cultural facilities such as the Natural History and History Museum "Museum of Life," the "Kitakyushu Municipal Art Museum," and the "Kitakyushu Environmental Museum," allowing for a full day of exploration.
