About Spring Source Park
One of the top energy spots in Hokkaido features a geyser eruption.
Details
Located in the center of Noboribetsu Onsen, this park was established in 2008 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the hot spring's opening. It features a geyser that was created from the bathroom of a demolished hotel. Along the banks of the hot spring river flowing from Hell Valley, a geyser erupts, creating a stunning spectacle every three hours! The hot spring can reach heights of up to 8 meters as steam billows forth.
In front of the geyser stands a demon-shaped statue called "Oni Zō," which symbolizes Noboribetsu Onsen. Its cute appearance, holding a bucket, makes it a popular photo spot.
The park features several gold sticks of different colors. Eight are on the ground, and it is said that the ninth is buried at the center where the eight intersect. The Source Park is one of Hokkaido's most famous energy spots, with each gold stick representing different meanings: the purple stick symbolizes success in career, the green one represents financial fortune, and the hidden ninth stick symbolizes the realization of great wishes.
