⛩️ Takayama Inari Shrine高山稲荷神社

The Takayama Inari Shrine in Aomori Prefecture is a representative shrine that is quite effective in praying for abundant harvests, maritime safety, and prosperous business. The exact date of its establishment is unknown, but it is said to have been built by local feudal lords during the Kamakura to Muromachi period. A highlight of this shrine is the path leading from the main hall to the deity's shrine. Along the way, there are over 200 torii gates, each about 2 meters high, arranged in a winding manner, which is why it is called Senbon Torii (千鳥居). It is said that these torii gates were offered to the shrine as gratitude by those who had their wishes fulfilled. Behind the deity's shrine is a sacred garden, where a whole row of fox statues, the messengers of Inari, stand. The foxes have rich expressions that make it seem as if they are conversing with each other, allowing visitors to forget the passage of time. The large building of the sanraku (参籠所) offers accommodation with meals included. It is perfect for those who wish to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the shrine. The interior has a ryokan-style design and also features large guest rooms suitable for multiple guests.

Located in Tsugaru City, this shrine is famous for its thousand torii gates. It is said to have fulfilled countless wishes of visitors since ancient times. Public transportation is not very convenient, so it is recommended to drive there for worship.
