⛩️ Takeda Jinja Shrine (武田神社)
🎨 Shrine Gallery
📝 Introduction
A shrine dedicated to Takeda Shingen, famous for bringing good luck in competitions.
📖 Details
The main deity of Takeda Shrine (武田神社) is the warlord Takeda Shingen (武田信玄), who was renowned during the Warring States period. The shrine is said to bring blessings for prosperous business, good fortune, victory, and the removal of misfortunes. Among these, the most well-known is the prayer for victory, which also encompasses the blessing of "overcoming oneself."
Within the shrine grounds, there lies the ruins of the residence known as "Tsuchizaki-kan" (躑躅之崎館), home to the three generations of the Kai Takeda clan (甲斐武田氏)—Takeda Nobutora (武田信虎), Takeda Shingen (武田信玄), and Takeda Katsuyori (武田勝賴). Visitors can see remnants from the Warring States period, such as the moat, earthworks, and wells. The Treasure Hall displays heirlooms of the Takeda family, including swords, helmets, and armor.
Additionally, within the grounds, there is a thriving "Mitsuba Matsu" (三葉松), a variety of pine trees. In autumn, the fallen pine needles turn a brilliant golden yellow. Unlike the more common "Niboku" (二葉松) which has two needles, the Mitsuba Matsu has an extra needle, making it a symbol of wealth. It is said that carrying the needles of the Mitsuba Matsu on oneself can bring financial fortune.
