🍜 Teahouse Usaburō茶屋 卯三郎
About Teahouse Usaburō
Enjoy seasonal local cuisine in a vintage traditional house.
Details
Located in the Nasu Highlands, this retro countryside restaurant offers traditional local cuisine. Enjoy handmade oil rice, freshly pounded mochi, and seasonal local dishes in an old house filled with a nostalgic atmosphere, complete with a large hearth and a corridor.
The glutinous rice essential for making oil rice and mochi is sourced from local farms, ensuring delicious and safe quality. The dishes primarily feature seasonal ingredients harvested locally, allowing you to savor the natural flavors nurtured by nature.
Among the most popular dishes is the "Pokopen Zen (ぽこぺん膳)," which includes oil rice, rolled udon, and stuffed pancakes, allowing you to taste all of the restaurant's signature dishes in one meal. Other offerings include the "Usaburo Zen," a combination of seasonal oil rice and mixed oil rice; the "Onago Zen (おなご膳)," which allows you to sample a variety of dishes in smaller portions, is also quite popular. In addition to classic dishes, the winter-exclusive "Ojiya (おじや)" and the summer-exclusive cold udon are definitely worth trying.
