Details
The Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel stands at 112.5 meters tall, with a diameter of 100 meters, and takes 15 minutes to complete one rotation, making it the largest Ferris wheel in the world. On clear days, visitors can enjoy stunning views. To the east, you can see the Ikoma Mountains in Nara Prefecture, while to the west, the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge in Hyōgo Prefecture comes into view. To the south lies Kansai International Airport, and to the north, the Rokko Mountains in Hyōgo Prefecture are visible. Although you are in Osaka, you can experience the wonderful feeling of touring the entire Kansai region. During the ride, the cabins provide audio guides in both Japanese and English.
The Ferris wheel features a total of 60 cabins, including 3 accessible cabins for wheelchair users. There are also 8 "transparent cabins" made entirely of transparent glass on the floor and ceiling, allowing passengers to experience the sensation of floating in the air, making it a great place to challenge one's courage.
The Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel is the first Ferris wheel to use a world-first technology and artistic method for its colorful lighting decorations, and it won the 2015 Good Design Award. The LED lighting creates a magnificent world of large fireworks and a colorful kaleidoscope of vibrant colors, along with ever-changing dreamlike patterns. Additionally, different light colors are used to display the weather forecast for the next day. It is a great spot to enjoy a romantic sky walk and create wonderful memories during your travels.
Next to the Ferris wheel is the world's largest aquarium, the Kaiyukan, as well as the Tempozan Marketplace, which features shops and a food court, including Starbucks Coffee, making it a convenient stop to explore.
