The Ashikaga Streetlight Story is a charming nighttime lighting event. As night falls, three historical and cultural sites in the Ashikaga area will illuminate their streetlights, guiding visitors into a warm and romantic world of lights. The three streetlight locations are Banna-ji Temple, Ashikaga School, and Ashikaga Orihime Shrine. At the entrance of Ashikaga School, a parasol dance performance will be held at the Tokumon gate, while the South Garden will feature special lighting techniques that transport visitors into a dreamlike world away from the everyday. A short paper-cutting film titled "Jigaku Matsu," based on the legends of the school, will also be screened.
