🗺️ Tobetsu Zooおびひろ動物園

Located near the center of Tsubetsu City, Midorino Oka Park is the second oldest zoo in Hokkaido, following the Maruyama Zoo in Sapporo. Although small in scale, it features a variety of animals ranging from small creatures to large ones like giraffes. The park is home to about 60 species and 300 animals. You can see powerful large animals such as Bengal tigers, polar bears, and American bison, as well as local species like Ezo raccoons, Ezo squirrels, and spotted seals. The zookeeper experience activities are also very popular (registration is required). In addition to the animal area, the park offers various children's amusement facilities, including a Ferris wheel, carousel, and go-karts. Separate tickets are required for these attractions. For those who want to enjoy the rides to the fullest, it is recommended to purchase a one-day unlimited pass. During winter, the operating hours are shortened, and the park is open only on weekends and public holidays. All amusement rides will be temporarily closed, so please take special note of this.

The zoo near the center of帯広市 (Obihiro City) has recently started to set up an interactive stable and a new giraffe pavilion. You can see about 60 species and 300 animals. In winter, it is open only on six days and national holidays. There are many playgrounds for children in the park.
