Tokachigawa Onsen is located in the central part of Hokkaido, in the Tokachi Plain. The area features the rare "Moor Onsen," which is rich in plant-based organic materials. The hot spring water flows from a depth of 500 to 700 meters at a high temperature of 55 to 60 degrees Celsius. Moor Onsen is one of the few plant-based hot springs in the world and was designated as a Hokkaido Heritage in 2004.
The water quality is classified as sodium chloride and bicarbonate spring, known for its broad effects in alleviating neuralgia, arthritis, and more. The area is surrounded by hotels and tourist attractions, and during the tourist season, it attracts numerous visitors, making it a very popular sightseeing destination.
Nearby, there are sunflower fields and white birch groves, allowing visitors to enjoy the magnificent natural beauty unique to Hokkaido. On clear summer days, one can also gaze upon the distant mountain scenery.
