The Towada Art Museum opened in 2008 and is the highlight of the "Art Towata" project launched by Towada City to promote urban development through art. The exhibits are not limited to paintings; they primarily focus on sculptures, emphasizing details that integrate the works with the space. Various art pieces are also scattered around the art plaza and streets opposite the museum, making the entire town feel like a world full of artistic charm. The Towada Art Museum was designed by the architectural master Tadao Ando. Its feature is that each artwork has its own independent exhibition hall, connected by glass corridors. Works by contemporary artists such as Yayoi Kusama and Yoshitomo Nara can be appreciated both in the museum and the art plaza. The imaginative and visually striking pieces leave a lasting impression. Regarding transportation, it is recommended to use public transport. You can take a bus from either "Hachinohe Station" or "Shichinohe-Towada Station."
