🗺️ Tsukayama Park (塚山公園)

📝 Introduction

A park where you can learn about the customs of the Japanese people in ancient times.

📖 Details

Tsukayama Park is a dwelling site from the Japanese Jomon period (approximately 3500 to 4500 years ago) that was discovered accidentally during archaeological investigations. Today, the site has been fully restored, and the architectural style of the dwelling is characterized as "kane-ana-shiki" (堅穴式). The interior of the house showcases scenes from the daily life of people in the Jomon period. The park features benches and trash bins that are modeled after Jomon period earthenware, making it very interesting. Inside the park's office, artifacts unearthed during archaeological excavations are displayed, as well as replicas of everyday items from the Jomon period. Additionally, the "Midori Consultation Office" (みどり相談所) is set up inside the office, where visitors can freely access information and photographs related to horticulture. Alongside the Kanda River, cherry blossom trees are planted, making the park a popular location for cherry blossom viewing and photography in the spring.
