📜 Content

Located in the northwest of Kanagawa Prefecture, Tsukui Lake is an artificial lake formed by the construction of a dam. With the increase in population, the 城山ダム (Shiroyama Dam) was built after the 相模ダム (Sagamihara Dam) to ensure a water supply, and it was completed in 1965 (Showa 40), creating this artificial lake. The surrounding area features 津久井湖城山公園 (Tsukui Lake Shiroyama Park), which has become a popular attraction due to the ruins of the Sengoku period mountain castle, 津久井城 (Tsukui Castle), and its famous cherry blossom viewing spots. It is not only an important water source for the residents of the prefecture but also a precious location within the metropolitan area where one can fully enjoy nature.
