Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gū is located in the center of Kamakura City and has long been loved by the public as a symbol of Kamakura. This shrine, deeply connected with Minamoto no Yoritomo, the first shogun of the Kamakura shogunate, continually attracts many believers who come to pay their respects. The main hall was built in 1828 and has been designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gū is known for its beautiful scenery throughout the four seasons.
