🍜 Udon Noodles・Soba Noodles Yoshino

📝 Introduction

The original store of Nagahama's famous "Chikuan Mixed Udon."

📖 Details

Founded in Meiji 9 (1876), this is the original shop of the famous "Kuzu Nabe Udon" in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture. The first owner was inspired by the common Kuzu dishes from Kyoto, simmering shiitake mushrooms, tofu skin, fish cakes, and wheat gluten in a secret broth, then drizzling it over udon noodles with Yoshino Kuzu, which led to the creation of "Kuzu Nabe Udon." The sauce poured over the noodles keeps its warmth until the last bite. It is a must-try dish when visiting the snowy region of Nagahama in winter. The fresh ginger placed in the center of the bowl not only warms the body but also enhances the flavor. Other dishes include mackerel soba, grilled mackerel sushi, and various local specialties, as well as udon, soba, and rice bowls. Dishes using Omi beef are also worth trying. All udon and soba can be paired with white rice cooked with Omi Koshihikari rice and grilled mackerel sushi to form a set meal. There is also a café on-site, and in the evening, the fully reservation-based "Shunsai Dining YOSHINO" offers a variety of alcoholic beverages.
