Umeda Lake is located upstream of the Kiryu River and serves as the water source for the "Kiryu River Headwaters Forest." This area not only boasts beautiful nature but is also a popular fishing spot among fishing enthusiasts. The lake is stocked with various fish species for visitors to catch, primarily including rainbow trout, brown trout, cherry salmon, mountain trout, black bass, and white bass. In addition to enjoying fishing year-round, every February, the lovely wintersweet flowers bloom along the lakeside. The "Wintersweet Festival," held during the peak blooming period, attracts many flower viewers. Moreover, visitors can also experience boating on Umeda Lake. Rowboats and pedal boats are available for rent along the lakeside, allowing guests to choose their preferred type. Spring, when the wintersweet is in full bloom, through to summer, when the earth is dressed in green, is an excellent season for boating. There are tables and a lawn set up along the lakeside, perfect for enjoying a picnic. Additionally, the lakeside restaurant "Yuki no Ya" offers a variety of bento made with seasonal ingredients. Of course, visitors can also enjoy udon noodles, tempura, and sake inside the restaurant. The restaurant even has a fishing pond where children can fish together with their parents.
