🍜 Yamabara Restaurant Matsunoshikominaka

📝 Introduction

Savor the exquisite shabu-shabu hot pot with Okinawa black pork.

📖 Details

The restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from the "Nago City Hall" in Okinawa Prefecture and is open only in the evening. Here, you can enjoy rare Okinawa black pork shabu-shabu in a traditional Okinawan house that has a history of 70 years. While shabu-shabu is generally centered around beef, this restaurant offers purebred pork derived from Okinawa black pigs. Due to its low production, slow growth, and small size, it is extremely rare and considered a highly valuable ingredient, available in limited quantities each day. It has almost no special fishy odor, making it highly recommended for women. The signature dish is "Premium Okinawa Black Pork Shabu-Shabu." The main ingredient is "Okinawa black pork," and the three combination plates include shoulder meat, belly meat, and thigh meat. In addition, there are many classic Okinawan dishes such as sea grapes, Okinawa salted pork, pig ears, and Okinawa buckwheat. The interior is filled with the atmosphere of a traditional house, featuring handmade wooden tables on tatami mats, decorated with miscellaneous items and small goods created by artists from the Yambaru region. Besides the Japanese-style private rooms, there is also a bar counter with a variety of alcoholic beverages, allowing guests to enjoy fine drinks while savoring delicious food. It is worth mentioning that the restaurant also offers a shabu-shabu set for two.
