Shiga Kogen boasts a continuous range of beautiful mountain peaks, with the highest being Mount Yokote. Here, you can find Japan's highest sky double chairlift, the "Sky Pair"; as well as the electric escalator pathway "Skylator," which allows you to reach the summit at an elevation of 2,307 meters without having to climb; and the "Yokote Mountain 2307 Sky Viewing Platform," where you can see a sea of clouds right at the top. The view from the summit's observation platform is spectacular. On clear days, you can take in the sights of Mount Shirane, Mount Shiga, and the Northern Alps, as well as distant views of Mount Fuji and the Sea of Japan. At the summit, there is a café with a great view called "2307 Sky Cafe," located near the entrance of the electric escalator pathway Skylator. You can enjoy the breathtaking scenery while savoring the chef's special dishes, such as baked curry rice and bamboo shoot pizza. Don't miss the café restaurant "Crumpet Cafe" on the second floor of the mountain station, where you can enjoy English muffins topped with slow-roasted pulled pork, apples, cream cheese, and caramel. The café "Point 2307," built on a slope, is also worth a visit. The peach smoothie and mountain lemon honey milk smoothie offered there are quite delicious.

The observation deck with excellent views is located at the summit of Mount Yokote, which stands at an elevation of 2,307 meters. You can easily reach the top using the electric escalator walkway and the permanent ski lift. From the summit, you can take in the breathtaking sights of Mount Shirane, Mount Shiga, and the Northern Alps. On a clear day, you can also see Mount Fuji and the Sea of Japan, and if you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of a sea of clouds. There is a scenic café with fantastic views available as well.
