Selected as one of the "Top 100 Green Spaces in Osaka" and "Top 100 Water Source Forests," this dam is rich in natural resources. It features a 2-kilometer-long trail that allows visitors to enjoy hiking and walking while experiencing the beauty of nature throughout the four seasons.
From late March to early April each year, the area around the dam is adorned with thousands of beautiful cherry blossom trees, including Somei Yoshino and Yamazakura, attracting large crowds of flower-viewers eager to witness this enchanting sight. The delightful spring colors embellish the tranquil beauty of the dam's lake, making it a must-see. In conjunction with the cherry blossom season, lanterns are hung at the Eiraku Dam Plaza, and lights are illuminated on some of the cherry trees, offering a different atmosphere for viewing cherry blossoms at night. During the Cherry Blossom Festival, temporary stalls are set up, creating a vibrant festival atmosphere in the surrounding area.
Located within the Okuyama Ayuyama Natural Park, there are several plazas and hiking trails available. Beyond the cherry blossom season, it remains a destination where visitors can enjoy the abundant natural beauty, attracting many people throughout the year.
