About Yunase Onsen Town
A hot spring town named after the hot springs that emerge from the shallow streams of "Hokuou" (北奧羽).
Details
Located in the famous tourist area of "Lake Towada" and "Hachimantai" in the northern Aowu (the northeastern Tohoku region, which includes Aomori, Iwate, and Akita Prefectures), the hot spring town of "Yunose Valley" is situated near the center. The hot spring, named Yunose Onsen, emerges from the shallow waters of the "Yoneshiro River." With its abundant spring water, it is renowned as a "beauty bath," said to make the skin more hydrated with each soak, and there are also skincare products made from Yunose Onsen.
The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty, allowing visitors to enjoy the spring cherry blossoms, the dazzling fresh greens of early summer, and the autumn foliage. The hot spring town has three accommodation facilities, some of which offer stunning views of Yunose Valley. The combination of the beauty bath and scenic views provides a healing experience for both body and mind.
Many travelers also use Yunose Onsen as a base for hiking. There is a trail of about 4.6 kilometers from Yunose Onsen to Hachimantai Aozasawa (please note that some sections are restricted). Staying at a ryokan or hotel in the hot spring town and embarking on a hiking trip in the valley followed by a soak in the hot springs is highly recommended.
