🗺️ Akiu Great Falls秋保大滝（あきうおおたき）

Akiu Great Falls is located upstream of the Natori River, which flows through Sendai City and Natori City in Miyagi Prefecture before emptying into the Pacific Ocean. With a width of 6 meters and a height of 55 meters, its spectacular scale has earned it a spot among the "One Hundred Famous Waterfalls of Japan." The scene of the roaring waterfall cascading down is breathtaking and has been designated as a national scenic spot. In addition to the vibrant autumn foliage, there are also the delicate cherry blossoms in spring, the fresh deep greens of summer, and the tranquil snowy landscapes of winter, showcasing the enchanting scenery that varies with the seasons. The "Taki Midai," which offers a view of the waterfall, is a 5 to 10-minute walk from a large parking lot, and there are also trails that extend down to the river below the waterfall. Looking up from the base of the waterfall allows visitors to fully appreciate its impressive grandeur, captivating all who gaze upon it. Nearby, there are other tourist attractions, including the "Akiu Great Falls Fudōson" next to a large ginkgo tree and the "Sendai City Akiu Otaki Botanical Garden," which is home to about 200 species of plants, attracting many visitors on holidays.
