About Asahikawa Kitaisaito Garden
In the area directly connected to the station, enjoy the scenery where majestic nature and beautiful flower gardens harmoniously come together.
Details
Located directly connected to Asahikawa Station and situated in the city center, Asahikawa Kitaisaito Garden has a geographical location that is quite rare in Japan. By passing through the west lobby of the station into the city center, visitors can enjoy the majestic Chubetsu River and the rich natural scenery of the northern land.
The park is mainly divided into three large areas. The "AUNE Plaza," inspired by Asahikawa crafts "Yukariori," features flower beds with perennial grasses and aquatic plants like daffodils, forming a garden primarily composed of native species. "Shinrin no Mori" (Forest of the Gods) includes flower beds designed with small islands floating in the plaza, an herb garden, and a vegetable garden; finally, the "Kagamiike Corridor" connects these two areas with a walking path and a mirror pond.
Additionally, within Shinrin no Mori, there is a shop called "kitasaito Garden" that sells garden-original soft serve ice cream, herbal teas, and more. Other items such as postcards and floral calendars are also available, making it a popular stop for many travelers during their break.
