About Awaji Yumebutai
A complex facility where beautiful nature and modern architecture coexist harmoniously.
Details
Awaji Yumebutai is located in the northern region of Awaji Island and is a complex leisure facility designed by the world-renowned architect Tadao Ando. Covering an area of approximately 28 hectares, it is adjacent to the national Akashi Kaikyo Park. The expansive facility includes a hotel, greenhouse, international conference hall, shops, and restaurants, with a variety of beautiful flowers, plants, and trees throughout the year.
Originally a green hillside, Awaji Yumebutai was transformed into a barren land due to the large-scale excavation and land reclamation required for the construction of Kansai International Airport. The purpose of Awaji Yumebutai is to restore the original natural landscape and achieve a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. The vast park features various uniquely styled attractions, with one of the highlights being the "Hyakudan-en," a series of 100 large flower beds built along the hillside, as well as the "Awaji Greenhouse," the largest greenhouse in Japan. The beautiful plants displayed in the greenhouse provide healing for both body and mind, making it an absolute must-visit photo spot.
The "Circular Plaza" and "Oval Plaza," surrounded by Shimizu concrete walls, are full of charm. When you look up, you can see the circular or oval sky, offering a poetic and dreamlike visual experience. Additionally, there are facilities such as the "Terrace Restaurant and Shops" and "Outdoor Theater," where visitors can enjoy delicious food and various entertainment activities, making for a delightful leisure time.
