🗺️ Di Shi Xia (Emperor Shakya Gorge)帝釈峡

The valley that spans across Shobara City and Jinsekikogen Town in Hiroshima Prefecture is 18 kilometers long. Located within the national scenic Bijodake Daisekikokuritsu Park, it has also been selected as one of Japan's "One Hundred Scenic Views," making it one of the top scenic spots in the Chugoku region. It is generally divided into the Daisekikyo area and the Shinryuko area, each featuring several must-see attractions. In the Daisekikyo area, you can see mysterious landscapes shaped by nature's artistry, including a karst plateau formed by years of erosion of limestone, the limestone cave "Hakuyudo," and the 8-meter-high cave entrance known as "Oni no Tōmon." Not to be missed is the "Oshibashi," a natural limestone bridge that is 90 meters long and 40 meters high, reputed to be the largest of its kind in the country. The construction of the Daisekigawa Dam has formed Shinryuko, where visitors can enjoy activities such as sightseeing boat rides or canoeing. It’s also a great way to appreciate the beauty of the valley's towering cliffs and unique rock formations up close from the lake. From the fresh greens of spring to the vibrant autumn leaves that adorn the valley, the changing natural scenery with the seasons is another major charm of this area.

The valley stretches for 18 kilometers. It is not only a national scenic spot but also selected as one of the "Japan's Top 100 Scenic Views." Must-see attractions include limestone caves, natural bridges, and unique rock formations. Activities such as boat tours and canoeing are available. The enchanting scenery of the four seasons is also not to be missed.
