About Duhai Beach
The beach is dotted with奇岩 (rock formations) and is also a popular snorkeling spot.
Details
Located on the northern beach of Kouri Island, which has a circumference of about 8 kilometers, this beautiful coral beach is situated behind "Tinu Beach," famous for its heart-shaped rock known as "心形岩" (Heart Rock). The beach is divided into eastern and western sections by a peninsula.
The eastern side of the beach is approximately 100 meters long, offering views of Cape Henbuto along the coastline. The western side is about 80 meters long, providing distant views of Ishigaki Island and Ipe Island. Along the coastline centered around the peninsula, there are many unique rock formations created by years of erosion from the waves, known as "ポットホール" (pot holes), which are a must-see attraction when visiting the beach.
Due to the shallow waters here, swimming is possible except during low tide. This area is also a popular snorkeling spot where you can see tropical fish. However, please pay special attention to safety during swimming and water activities, as there are no lifeguards on the beach.
