About Fuchu City Art Museum
In the art museum located within Fuchu no Mori Park, you can admire a carefully curated selection of artworks.
Details
The Fuchu City Art Museum, opened in October 2000, is located within Fuchu no Mori Park. With the theme "Life and Beauty = Re-examining a Life Integrated with Aesthetics," the museum not only collects, preserves, and displays artworks but also hosts educational outreach activities characteristic of an art museum.
The building consists of two floors above ground and one basement level. The first floor features a free space open for public use, including an art library with modern and contemporary art-related catalogs, art magazines, encyclopedias, and more for reading; it also houses a citizen gallery, an art museum shop, and a café. The creative studio and children's sculpture room offer experience courses suitable for all age groups, which have received positive feedback from participants.
The second floor's planning exhibition room hosts exhibitions centered around the basic theme of "Life and Art." In the permanent exhibition room, the Ushijima Noriyuki Memorial Hall, 60 to 80 selected works primarily focused on paintings from the late Edo period to modern times are displayed from a collection of 2,200 pieces.
Visiting the Fuchu City Art Museum allows you to enjoy seasonal plants while appreciating carefully selected artworks, and you can also relax at the attached café for a leisurely time.
