The hiking trails of Takao Mountain are all paved, with Route 1 being the most frequented by hikers, making it easy for beginners to climb. It takes about a 15-minute walk from the Takao Mountain Station of the cable car to reach "Gongen Chaya," located at the intersection of the men's and women's paths, which is a great spot for hikers to take a break, often crowded with people. The signature dish is the fragrant sesame dumplings grilled over charcoal at the storefront. It is said that each skewer contains about 2,300 sesame seeds, available in two flavors: golden sesame and black sesame. There are three types of sauces to choose from: a sweet and salty sauce made with Tokyo soy sauce, a special soy sauce, and walnut miso (the sweet and salty sauce and walnut miso are available in limited quantities). Not only can you enjoy freshly grilled delicious dumplings at any time, but they also offer self-service tea, making it a great choice for a quick rest. True to its name "Gomadokoro," the shop also serves dishes made with a generous amount of sesame, such as miso dengaku sprinkled with plenty of sesame and amazake with black sesame. The ice cream made from Tokyo milk is also very popular. In addition, the shop's "Natural Yam Ramen," "Hachioji Ramen" made with minced onions instead of green onions, and the limited "Tengu Ramen" topped with ten different ingredients, among other flavors, have also received high praise for their authentic ramen.
