🗺️ Gongendo Sakura Tsutsumi (Gongendo Cherry Blossom Embankment) (権現堂桜堤)幸手権現堂桜堤（県営権現堂公園）

Located in Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture, Gongen-do Sakura Dike (Gongen-do Park) is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot representative of the Kanto region. Each spring, around 1,000 cherry trees of the Somei Yoshino variety bloom along the dike, creating a 1-kilometer-long cherry blossom tunnel. On both sides of the dike are vast fields of canola flowers. The pink cherry blossoms, golden canola flowers, and blue sky intertwine, weaving a breathtaking landscape. This area has also been a filming location for many TV shows and movies, attracting many visitors for pilgrimage throughout the year. During the annual cherry blossom festival held from late March to April, about 100 stalls participate in the festivities. The number of cherry blossom viewers can reach up to one million during this period, making it a bustling scene. Not only during the cherry blossom season, but Gongen-do Sakura Dike offers beautiful flowers to admire all year round. In June, 100 varieties of hydrangeas with 10,000 blooms compete for attention; from September to October, the fields are adorned with red spider lilies, coloring the banks with vibrant red; and in January, 500,000 daffodils standing tall in the cold winter reach their peak viewing period. With the changing seasons, flowers bloom on the sloped dike, making it a captivating sight from any angle, thus it is a favorite photo spot for photography enthusiasts.

The contrast between the pink of the Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms and the yellow of the canola flowers is truly stunning. It is also well-known as a filming location. In addition to cherry blossoms in March, you can enjoy hydrangeas in June, cluster amaryllis in September, and narcissus in January. During weekends, the parking lots and roads can get very crowded, so it is recommended to visit on weekdays if possible.
