The "Hakodate Tropical Botanical Garden" features approximately 300 species and 3,000 trees and flowers from the southern regions, thriving in a lush environment. The greenhouse is home to tropical plants, where visitors can see tropical fruits like bananas, flowering plants, cacti, and aquatic life such as piranhas and tropical fish. Regardless of the season in Hokkaido, the garden remains warm year-round, making it a great choice for travelers who are sensitive to the cold.
The water plaza fills with water during the summer, creating a complex swimming pool facility. Behind the plaza is the vast ocean, where visitors can enjoy the fun of splashing around amidst the sounds of waves and the scent of the sea, making it particularly popular with children. Mini tents can be set up in the plaza, allowing families to enjoy their visit with peace of mind.
Another popular area is Monkey Mountain. Visitors can purchase feed upon entry to feed the monkeys, and during the winter, you can see the adorable sight of monkeys soaking in hot springs. Across from Monkey Mountain, there is a foot bath, which is highly recommended for relaxation.
