About Hakuba Happo One
Once served as an Olympic venue, it hosts a variety of different events throughout the year.
Details
Hakuba Happo One can be enjoyed for outdoor activities year-round. In summer, it is popular for hiking and mountain climbing, while in winter, it transforms into a winter sports paradise. Its fame skyrocketed after being the venue for alpine skiing during the 1988 Nagano Winter Olympics.
On the hiking trails, you can see rare alpine plants and enjoy stunning viewpoints that overlook 11 of Japan's top 100 mountains. On clear days, there is even a chance to see Mount Fuji. The "Happo Pond Lodge," located at the trailhead, can be accessed via a cable car, offering breathtaking views from above during the ride. In winter, it becomes Japan's largest ski resort, making skiing in an Olympic venue an appealing feature.
In addition, there are places like the "Usagidaira Terrace," where you can feel the gentle breeze while enjoying views of the streets of Hakuba Village, and the "Hakuba Happo Onsen," Japan's only strongly alkaline natural hydrogen molecular hot spring.
