📝 Introduction

Not only can you enjoy a beautiful night view of Yokohama Port, but it is also a famous spot for admiring roses.

📖 Details

Yamato-koen Park is located on a small hill to the east of Motomachi and offers a stunning view of Yokohama Harbor. In the early days of the open port, this area served as a resting place for foreigners, with British troops stationed on the hill and French troops stationed below. There were also foreign residential apartments, known as "French Hill Lodge" (フランス山館) and "Yokohama British Pavilion" (横浜英館). This park is also famous for its roses, with the "British Rose Garden" (イギリスローズ園) and "Fragrance Garden" (花香園) showcasing blooming roses and various flowers throughout the year. The park is aptly named "Yamato-koen" (港見丘), as its observation deck provides a panoramic view of the bay. It is especially known for its romantic night views centered around the "Yokohama Bay Bridge" (横浜海湾大橋).
