🗺️ Honke Matsuura Sake Brewery本家松浦酒造

Honke Matsuura Shuzō is a long-established large brewery founded in 1804. It is known for its famous sake from Tokushima Prefecture, "Naruto Tai," and for the liqueur "Sudachi Shochu," which is made by adding sake to the local specialty sudachi juice. During the Edo period (1603–1867), the brewery thrived alongside the bustling commercial streets, using high-quality local water and sake rice for brewing. Here, you can make a reservation in advance to tour the brewery. After visiting the modern brewing facilities, you can also admire precious artifacts such as the literati folding screens painted in the late Edo period and the "Naruto Tai" hanging scroll from the Meiji period (1868–1912) housed in a building registered as a national tangible cultural property. After touring the brewery, it is recommended to visit the "Naruto Tai Store," located at one corner of the brewery. Here, you can purchase various carefully brewed products, including "Naruto Tai" sake, Sudachi liqueur, and secret reserve sake. Tasting is also available, allowing you to sample and compare different flavors before making your choice. Additionally, there is a "Sake Terakoya" where you can learn about the brewing process, complete with tastings and small side dishes. There is also a learning experience program led by the 10th generation kuramoto explaining the brewing process, which requires prior inquiry.
