About Hyogo Island Park

Creating an urban oasis using the Tama River water environment.

Details

Hyogo Island Park is located in the Futako-Tamagawa area, which is filled with large shopping centers, and it is a healing leisure spot where you can experience the changing seasons of nature. The park utilizes the environment of the Tama River, creating a gourd-shaped artificial pond in the center. The artificial stream uses groundwater drawn from the Tama River, and whenever the weather warms up, many children come here to play in the water. The stream is very shallow, with water depth not exceeding the ankles, and the flow is slow, allowing even preschool children to safely enjoy the fun of playing in the water. On the gently rounded hills, there are dense clusters of trees, making it a perfect spot to sit on the nearby grass and enjoy sunbathing or a picnic. You might even consider the sound of the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line train passing by "Gatangoton" as a background soundtrack, fully enjoying a relaxing time that feels like a holiday.

Highlights

In the modernized Futako-Tamagawa area, there are precious spots where you can enjoy the natural atmosphere. The gentle and slow-flowing river allows preschool children to play in the water with peace of mind. The small hills covered with lush trees are perfect for sunbathing or having a picnic.
