📖 Details

Standing by the banks of the Kifune River, the ryokan established in 1932 (Showa 7) is a famous spot for Kyoto's summer tradition of "kawadoko" (river dining), attracting many visitors each summer. The kawadoko, set over the clear waters of the Kifune River, is gently caressed by a cool summer breeze, and the soft, pleasant sounds of the flowing river create a refreshing atmosphere. Here, guests can enjoy a series of carefully crafted and exquisite seasonal kaiseki dishes in an exceptional location. The experience is not only delicious but also satisfies all five senses, creating wonderful memories during their travels. The kaiseki cuisine, which heavily features Kyoto ingredients, starts at approximately 12,100 yen for both lunch and dinner. The "HIROYA Gozen," a limited kaiseki lunch available from October to June, is a great value at 6,050 yen. A must-try summer dish in Kyoto is the "Umiman Shabu Shabu," available as a seasonal offering from July to September. Additionally, the night-only "Botan Kaiseki" and "Gyuu Shabu Shabu Kaiseki," available from December to February, should not be missed. Just a 2-minute walk from the famous "Kifune Shrine," known for blessing relationships, and about a one-hour walk to the renowned energy spot "Kurama Temple," it is an ideal distance for a leisurely hike. This location serves as a perfect base for dining or accommodation, allowing guests to fully enjoy the sights of Kyoto's hidden treasures.
