📝 Introduction
The historical site square restored using CG technology.
📖 Details
The Kokushi-kan and the Ieyasu Goten Historical Plaza are located at the site of the Kokushi-kan, the residence of the provincial governor of Musashi Province, from the late Asuka and early Nara periods (late 7th century to early 8th century) to the end of the Heian period (11th century). The Kokushi-kan was a facility where ancient Japanese administrative officials carried out their duties and where their families lived (Musashi Province was a historical administrative region in Japan, encompassing parts of present-day Tokyo, Saitama, and Kanagawa).
To recreate the space of the ancient Kokushi-kan, many columns with a diameter of 30 centimeters and a height of 2.4 meters have been constructed on the ruins of the Kokushi-kan, allowing visitors to imagine the scale of the original buildings. By scanning a QR code with a smartphone, visitors can also view images that use CG technology to restore historical scenes.
⭐ Highlights
It is a facility where the 国司 (kokushi, ancient Japanese administrative officials) carried out their duties and lived with their families. The technique of building many columns on-site has been used to spatially restore the original structure, allowing visitors to feel the scale of the original building. You can scan a QR code with your smartphone to view CG images. It is said that there is also a facility here where Tokugawa Ieyasu stayed during his "falconry" journey.
