⛩️ Kozaki Mikumanoza Shrine

📝 Introduction

It feels like an entrance to another world, a mystical energy spot radiating an aura of mystery.

📖 Details

The Kamigami Shrine in Kamikaze is a social media sensation known as an "energy spot" and an "entrance to another world." It enshrines three deities: Izanagi no Mikoto, Izanami no Mikoto, and Ishikuni no Taishogun, and is affectionately nicknamed "Gongen-san" by locals. Within the shrine grounds, there is a sacred tree called "Takeha," which is prayed to for good relationships, and "Kuwatoiwa," which blesses success in exams and victories. Moreover, this place is also the setting for the popular animated film "Hotarubi no Mori e," attracting many worshippers and becoming a popular tourist destination. In the dense cedar forest, a path leads through the mountains, exuding a solemn atmosphere as if stepping into a mythical era. The steep stone staircase with over 260 steps connects to the main hall on the mountain, flanked by nearly a hundred stone lanterns. The torii gate, stone steps, and lanterns are all covered in moss, creating a tranquil world surrounded by greenery. The stone steps seem to lead to another world, offering dreamlike photo opportunities whether looking up or down. Continuing up from the rustic shrine, one can see the "Kuwatoiwa," which is said to have been kicked open by a demon.
