📖 Details
Maiko Park opened in 1900 and is the first prefectural urban park in Hyogo Prefecture. As the gateway to the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge, known as the world's longest suspension bridge with the beautiful name "Pearl Bridge," it attracts numerous domestic and international tourists. Located about 50 meters above sea level, the "Maiko Seaside Promenade" is set in the hollow section of the bridge, allowing visitors to view the complex structure of the bridge and enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Akashi Strait. At the observation deck café-restaurant on the bridge, guests can savor various dishes made from local ingredients from the Akashi region while enjoying the view.
The park features many exciting attractions, some of which are historically valuable buildings. For example, the "Former Koshinaka Residence" and the "Former Mutō Sanji Residence," both registered as Important Cultural Properties of Japan.
